Ingredients
- 1 (28 oz) can baked beans
- 1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
- 1 (16 oz) can great northern beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 poblano pepper, finely chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 large sweet onion, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup honey mustard
- 1/2 cup sweet BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons ground chipotle
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon kosher sea salt
- 12 slices bacon, partially cooked (optional)
Instructions

Cook the vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large grill-safe pan over medium heat. Add the onion, red pepper, and poblano and sauté until softened.

Combine the beans: Stir in the baked beans, apple pie filling, great northern beans, maple syrup, honey mustard, BBQ sauce, minced garlic, ground chipotle, smoked paprika, and kosher salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Preheat the grill: Preheat the Traeger grill to 225°F.

Prepare for smoking: If using bacon, lay the partially cooked bacon slices across the top of the beans.
5.
Smoke the beans: Place the pan on the Traeger grill and cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
6.
Serve: Remove from the grill and chop the bacon over the top before serving.
