Smoked ice cubes add a subtle wood-fired aroma to cocktails as they melt. They’re excellent in whiskey drinks, margaritas, or citrus-forward cocktails.

Ingredients
- 4 cups cold filtered water
Equipment
- Disposable aluminum pan
- Ice cube trays
Instructions
1.
Preheat the grill: Preheat the grill to 180°F. Use Super Smoke if available.
2.
Smoke the water: Pour 4 cups cold filtered water into a disposable aluminum pan. Place the pan on the grill grates and smoke at 180°F for 2 hours.
3.
Cool: Carefully remove the pan from the grill and allow the smoked water to cool to room temperature.
4.
Fill the molds: Pour the cooled smoked water into ice cube trays.
5.
Freeze: Place the trays in the freezer and freeze until solid.
6.
Serve: Remove cubes from the trays and use in cocktails as desired.
Optional
Add sliced fruit, herbs, or other garnishes to the ice cube molds before pouring in the smoked water to create smoked fruit / herb ice cubes.
