Ingredients
Beef
- 2 lbs beef, thinly sliced ¼-inch thick against the grain
Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste
- 2 teaspoons canola oil
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Slurry
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¼ cup water
Optional Garnish
- 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
Instructions
1.
Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together the water, soy sauce, garlic, honey, sesame oil, ginger paste, canola oil, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
2.
Reserve Marinade: Set aside 1 cup of the marinade for the finishing sauce.
3.
Marinate the Beef: Place the sliced beef in a bowl or food-safe bag and toss with the remaining marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
4.
Prepare the Sauce: Pour the reserved 1 cup marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
5.
Thicken the Sauce: Whisk together the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Stir the slurry into the simmering sauce and cook until thickened and glossy. Remove from heat.
6.
Cook the Beef: Preheat a Traeger Flatrock griddle to medium heat and lightly oil the surface. Remove the beef from the marinade and cook until medium-rare.
7.
Finish the Beef: Drizzle the thickened teriyaki sauce over the beef and cook 1–2 minutes more until evenly coated.
8.
Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with white sesame seeds if desired.
