I live, breathe, and eat BBQ every single day. I write recipes professionally, work on my grills constantly, and study the science of smoke so you do not have to guess.
I am a proud member of the American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame and a World Champion who has competed in every large national contest. But my real passion is teaching you how to create meals that bring your family together.

I have spent the last two decades evolving from a fierce competitor to a global educator. My career started on the competition circuit, where precision matters more than anything else.
My record speaks for itself. I have won over 400 individual BBQ awards and multiple Grand Championships. I know what it takes to hit a perfect score.

I have taken home trophies for World Champion Grilling, World Champion Pork, and World Champion Dessert.
American Royal World Series of Barbecue
I achieved perfect 180 scores to win World Champion Sausage, World Champion Vegetable, and World Champion Potato.
Best Wings on the Planet
I am a two-time winner of this prestigious title.
In 2024, I was inducted into the American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame. It was a massive honor that solidified my place in the history of this sport.
Teaching the World to Grill
I am a teacher at heart. Over the years, I have taught more than 22,000 students across the globe how to master their grills.
My travels have taken me from my home base in Central Florida to Dubai, South Africa, Norway, and Amsterdam. No matter where I go, the goal is the same.
I want to make barbecue approachable for everyone. It does not matter if you are 18 or 80, male or female. You can master this craft.
My expertise is recognized at the highest levels. In 2015, I became the first person to receive a United States O-1 Visa designated specifically as a “Barbecue Expert.” This recognizes my unique skills and contributions to the culinary world.

You might recognize me from my time on screen. I hosted my own show, BBQ Crawl, on the Travel Channel for three seasons. We filmed in 185 countries, highlighting the best local joints and the people behind the pits.
I also appear frequently on the Food Network as an expert judge. I bring my competition background to the table to give fair, technical feedback.
When I am not on camera, I am writing. I have one best-selling cookbook already on shelves, and I am hard at work on my next one, which is projected for release in 2028. I write recipes every day to keep my skills sharp and my content fresh.
